Scarring

“I don’t want time to heal me.  There’s a reason I’m like this.  I want time to set me ugly and knotted with the loss of you.  –China Mieville, The Scar

When we lose the one we loved, we become tough and hard. Perhaps, because our hearts are so broken. They literaly ache. Grief is bound to have a long-term effect, such as scarring. On the mind, body, and soul.

I want people to see these scars as I do. I’m in so much pain, as are others from this loss. The scars represent our love, that hasn’t ended. At least, from this side of reality.
